Color Scheme

Color scheme

Specifies the base color scheme (theme) of NPS Image Editor's user interface.

Scheme variant

Some color schemes have different variants such as accent colors or light vs. dark which you can specify here.

Enable window and panel gradients

Some color schemes have a gradient effect that can be applied to panels and windows throughout the program. Disable this option if you want a flat appearance regardless of what the color scheme specifies.

Match menu bar to window borders

If enabled, the main menu bar will match the Windows title bar (with specific behavior controlled by the "Title bar appearance" setting). If disabled, the main menu bar will match the NPS Image Editor color scheme.

Title bar appearance

Specifies how the title bar and NPS Image Editor interact with each other. Not all options are available on all systems.

Default

Uses the default behavior of Windows. The menu bar uses the system color for the title bar.

Match NPS Theme

Sets the title bar to either white or black depending on whether the color scheme is light or dark. Requires Windows 11 22H2 to work.

Match Accent Color

Matches the menu bar to the Windows accent color. Use this setting if you have Windows configured to apply its accent color to the title bars.

Materials

Windows 11 22H2 provides several "materials" with varying levels of translucency. Choosing one of these materials will set the title bar to use that material but this may not apply as expected to the menu bar so you may want to disable "Match menu bar to window borders" for the more translucent options.
